Faux Pearl Collection - a collection that feels both refined and subversive—where classic elegance meets an urban, directional edge.
For over two decades, Jianhui has been working with pearls—long before they became a signature of the brand.
In the early days, while trading antiques and vintage pieces at Portobello Road Market and Old Spitalfields Market, he encountered countless broken vintage pearl necklaces. Rather than discarding them, he carefully deconstructed each piece, combining the pearls with unexpected materials to give them a renewed life. It was here that his enduring fascination with pearls began.
Jianhui London’s Faux Pearl Collection reimagines tradition through a contemporary lens—challenging conventions and redefining how pearl jewellery is seen and worn.
Long regarded as symbols of status and femininity—once treasured by Chinese royalty for centuries—pearls are transformed into something entirely unexpected. Paired with recycled materials such as leatherette, fabrics, and delicate lace, they take on a new, modern identity.
The result is a collection that feels both refined and subversive—where classic elegance meets an urban, directional edge.
Worn as a single strand, the pieces convey quiet femininity. Layered in multiples, they become bold and expressive, with a raw, statement-making presence.
The Faux Pearl Collection is an exploration of contrast—soft yet strong, timeless yet contemporary—created for those who see jewellery as a form of self-expression.
